SPED Teacher - Full-Time or Part-Time Position
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a SPED Teacher to provide (onsite) tutorial services to children. Children will be mostly with special needs but neurotypical children are also welcome.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a passion for working children, especial those with facing extra challenges brought about by their medical condition. Your passion to educate and help children achieve their academic goals is also important. Excellent communication skills is extremely important in building and maintaining your relationship with the parents. Creativity and innovative drive are also a must.
A cheerful and happy personality is also needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide group tutorial services to children
- Target academic goals of children and be creative it its execution
- Conduct Individual Education Plan (IEP) Assessments when requested (training provided).
- Once a month, the SPED Teacher is required to allocate one (1) meeting for Parent-Teacher
Conferences (PTC) to discuss any parent academic concerns about their child’s IEP with us.
- Complete Weekly Lesson Plans and submit to Head SPED Teacher
- Creatively design your “classroom” and giving it a fun, educational feel
- Collaborate with the rest of the team regarding ideas for design themes that the center can focus on every quarter and be involved in the execution of these design ideas.
- Coordinate and collaborate with a child’s Lead Therapist (occupational, speech, ABA, etc.) to nurture our multi-disciplinary approach to child intervention.
- Perform substitute teacher duties when needed.
Required Core Skills and Personality
- Collaborative and team-player attitude
- Consistent, professional dress, and manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in English.
- Knowledge for foreign languages (e.g. Hokkien, Mandarin, etc.) is a big plus
- Competency in IT applications like Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Docs and Sheets, and/or Canva for preparing documentation/reports/presentations when needed.
- Good time management skills.
- Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping with various tasks as needed.
- Attention to detail is a must
- Must have a cheerful and always smiling disposition when dealing with clients.
- Must have a liking towards children since this is a pediatric facility.
Previous Experience
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- Experience as a tutor or a teacher is required.
Educational Qualifications
- At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in education with a major in Special Education
- License is required
Full Time Salary and Benefits
- Starts at Php 19k Gross Compensation per month– final rate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications
- Full Gov’t Benefits
- Upon Regularization:
- - Paid Quarterly Break, ranging from 3-5 days (schedule is decided by management in advance), with a total of 4 breaks per year.
- - 15 days paid sick leave- For positive performance, Health Card (HMO) will be given 6 months after regularization.
Part Time Salary and Benefits
- Starts at Php 19k Gross Compensation per month– final rate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications – final rate will also depend on the hours agreed upon for work by a part-time worker.
- Full Gov’t Benefits
- Paid Quarterly Break, ranging from 3-5 days (schedule is decided by management in advance), with a total of 4 breaks per year.
Work Hours
- Full-Time Hours: Tuesdays to Saturdays 9:30am to 6:30pm
- Part-Time Hours: Tuesdays to Saturdays 9:30am to 3:30pm or 9:30am to 12:30pm
- Lunch break total of 1.0 hours for those that stay past 12:30pm
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 25 - 40 per week
Salary: Php19,000.00 - Php25,000.00 per month
