Our Invercargill branch is seeking an empathetic, experienced Counsellor for a fulfilling opportunity, giving you with the tools you need to support people the way they deserve to be taken care of – the Habit Health way.

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver focused interventions so that clients ace coping mechanisms at work and life
  • Visit worksites to provide support after an event disruption
  • Deliver counselling services via in-person, video and telehealth
  • Deliver training to customer employees

The ideal candidate:

  • A strong sense of others – we’re looking for sensitivity and empathy as traits
  • Tertiary level Counselling or related qualification (Level 7 min)
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapy models e.g. SFT, CBT, FACT
  • Current APC with NZAC, NZCCA, DAPAANZ, SWRB
  • Experience in trauma intervention, psychological first-aid


Note for overseas candidates: This is a full-time role offering a minimum of 40 hrs/week and a gross annual minimum salary of NZD 59,000 – NZD 85,500 maximum salary dependent on experience. As an accredited employer, we pay at minimum the median wage of NZD 29.66/hr for this role.
