Skills the person needs to have are in curry, south Indian and tandoori dishes.
Also able to make snacks, sweets and starters. All the positions are full-time and permanent.
Indian curry cooks 2x positions
Vacancy for four Cooks in Indian Curry and Tandoori in Wellington city.
Job responsibilities:
o Responsible to cook Indian curries and tandoori dishes
o Performing all the food preparation, seasoning and cooking
o Prepare the gravies and sauces as per the business requirements
o Assist in developing recipes of curry and tandoori and presenting the food
o Portioning, serving sizes and quality of food served to customers
o Ensure the food is presented and garnished correctly as per the standards
o Prepare the food as per the customers special dietary needs and changes required
o Regulating temperatures of cooking equipment during the cooking process
o Storing food in chillier and freezer as per the food safety guidelines
o Stocktaking and reporting it to the Chef
o Hold knowledge on the stock taking sheets and ordering sheets
o Check freshness of stock arriving and during inventory
o Clean and keep the kitchen as required by health standards and city council requirements
o Maintaining hygiene in the kitchen and follow the standards
o Ensure that all equipments are kept clean
o Train other kitchen staff whenever required
o Maintain a good working relationship with the staff
Requirements of the position:
o 1 year of work experience or a relevant level 2 qualification
o Good knowledge to prepare Indian curry and tandoori cuisines
o Flexibility to work as per the roster, weekends, public holidays
o Have a can do attitude and good work ethic
o Good team player

Work hours - 30 hours per week,
Wages- $29.70 per hour
